Yes I had fun last week and I'm back for more! And I'm thinking this weeks topic is even more interesting:
Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?
It kind of threw me at first because it takes a lot for me to give up on a book/series. Especially if there's even just one character I like, I'll keep reading the series just to see that person through to the end. I know, I know I'm a masochist. But then I remembered one that disgusted me to no end. And there was no way in hell I'd ever be able to read another book in the series. The series I broke up with is:
by
Kate Douglas
Let me start off by saying this to those who don't know me yet, I am so not a prude. I love me some kissing. steamy scenes. Especially if there's a bad boy doing the kissing! But for once in all my reading years the thought crossed my mind while reading this...."Sometimes you can ruin a perfectly good book with too much sex!" I know! I surprised myself!! But in this case it's true. But the other problem was it wasn't just....sex. It was threesomes and group sex and, oh you're going to love this, it's about shifters right? Most turning into wolves and umm, there was a couple of sex scenes between the couples in wolf form....I'M NOT KIDDING!!!! Yeah totally skipped over those. I honestly don't even know how I made it through THIS one let alone the idea of moving forward with any future books. *Shivers* On THAT pleasant note...
What book series have you broken up with? Leave me a comment and let me know if you're a new follower Bloglovin', email, gfc whatever you prefer! And I promise to get back to everyone Saturday or Sunday! (I have a teenager turning 16 today so I'll be MIA most of the day.) I hope you all have a great weekend and get in some good reading :) xoxo
I'm the same way, even if the plot become boring I'll want to see the series through to the end, because I want to find out what happens to the characters.
ReplyDeleteUghh, that is just blah! :/

Oh god, that sounds gross. :L I'm totally like you and I love me some kissing but that'd totally put me off too. Definitely not going to check that one out. My FF can be found at my blog Music Plus Books.

Yes! It's true! You can ruin a book by too much sex. That's what happened with the Anita Blake series. She was seriously screwing multiple guys and I was like umm, No. LOL.
ReplyDeleteOld Stalker also!!! <3
Hey just hopping around and noticed this is my first visit to your awesome blog!
ReplyDeleteGlad to read your choices it'll make me think twice about the series you chose.

Yeah me too. I almost feel guilty if I don't. As if they're going to sit here and give me a guilt trip or something, I'm so ridiculous lol
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
Yeah, it taught me that sometimes a pretty cover is just that. A pretty cover. Haha
ReplyDeleteThanks you too!!
Yes!! That's how this was. It was like porn all sex no major plot because the only plot it did have took 2nd place to all the bed hopping.
ReplyDelete<3 I heart stalking
Thank you very much!! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, I wish I was as devoted as you! I try to stick with series even if the characters bug me, but I almost always have to give up if they bother me. :) http://abbiereadsbooks.blogspot.com
