When the chase ends, the fun begins…

It's her best friend's wedding, and Autumn Lane is trussed up in a pink bridesmaid dress with a big “everything is great” smile plastered across her face. She's not going think about her life imploding, or spending the next two weeks housesitting in the ridiculously small town of Diamond. No, she'd rather think about the tattooed hottie in the wedding party...and how to turn the wicked way he’s looking at her into a night of intense pleasure.

Huck Galvin is fiercely attracted to his mystery woman's no-BS attitude, but their one-night-no-strings plan backfires when Huck discovers that Autumn is the out-of-towner he's “chaperoning” for the next two weeks. Outside the bedroom, the two can’t stand each other, yet Huck can’t deny how much he wants one more night with her. But Autumn isn't going to make it easy for Huck. Not by a long shot...

I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating!

I'm only two books into this series at this point and I am loving it. I feel like it comes down to the characters for me. There's this closeness and family like vibe to the friendships throughout the series that brings a smile to your face and has me wanting to go find my own little version of Diamond. In addition to the memorable characters you can also expect great storylines, steaminess bordering on on scorching, the men are rugged and very alpha, the girls are sweet and stubborn and feisty. Plus the icing on the cake is the sweet, small town setting that makes you want to pack your bags and go immediately.

Though this series centers around a group of friends from the small town of Diamond, Autumn is a new addition to town. I thought she was so much fun. She's a mechanic and a tomboy, not the typical heroine I'm used to with these kinds of books so it was very refreshing. There's this brokenness about her and she's had a very sad life that has left her with zero self-worth and yet she carries herself with this streak of confidence that was admirable.

Huck was just a great big bowl of yum. I love the fact that even though he's all alpha male, he was also secure enough within himself to ease up on the control every now and again and allow Autumn to take over. The way he carries himself with his group of friends and even his relationship with his father allow you to see that Huck is just this really amazing guy. Even when he messes up with Autumn, because someone always messes up in a really good romance at some point, you know without a doubt that it's not just because he's a complete jerk. He has valid trust issues and you never doubt for one second that Huck isn't a genuine, redeemable guy. Am I smitten or what?

This being my second book by Joya Ryan, the first one was Chasing Temptation book 2 in this series, I'm really falling in love with her writing style. The relationships she's created in both books I've read so far are insanely hot and steamy and yet there is this sweetness and tenderness to them that melts my heart. I adore her characters and the way they all mesh together. You can feel the close bonds of friendship through the writing, the way they give each other crap and support each other, I just want to be friends with everyone! Plus it was so much fun seeing Bass and Penny from the last book make quite a few appearances in this one!

So I still haven't read the first book yet, Chasing Trouble, but now that I have these other two under my belt I immediately bought it before I started writing this review and I can't wait to get to know Jenna and Colt. If, like me, you like a good Brazen I highly recommend this series. They're short, steamy and sweet. The perfect recipe to a good romance!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!
