The Monday Musts #12 [Where I'm Basically Obsessed. (Not) Sorry]

The Monday Musts is a new feature created by Jessica from Lovin' los libros where we share with you each week all the musts you're missing out on. The must reads, the must listens, and the must sees (This can be ANYTHING that catches our eye. Other blogs, bookish things, pictures, etc)

Okay, so you need to be warned right now. If you are watching the Shadowhunters and are not yet caught up through episode 12** you will need to stop before you hit my "Must See" section. Don't worry I will leave plenty of space so that you can get up to my "Must Listen" without seeing what comes next so you can close it. But after watching that episode this weekend I've sort of got a one track mind and I don't want any complaining about *spoilers*. On with the showwwww!

** I guess maybe also if you haven't read TMI yet and eventually want to...I should cover all my bases!

I read these first 3 books in The White Rabbit Chronicles at the end of March and became pretty obsessed. It was a series that, for me at least, really did a number on my feels. It brought me to incredible highs and then the types of lows that had me yelling at my Kindle and leaving status updates on Goodreads that were basically all caps. Yeah, I got pretty invested haha.

This song has been stuck in my head for a freaking week. This is not a complaint! I found it through the Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify back in 2015 and it's probably one of my favorites that I've "discovered" from there.

A few days ago my kiddo gets out of the shower and comes downstairs as I'm singing it very loudly and of course when I see him I then start singing even louder to him. He stops and I'm about to laugh because I was expecting "Mom, just stop..." Instead what I get is "...what the crap? I was just listening to that..." and a look like this O_O Apparently he was gonna try to introduce me to this one as well.

Ha! Beat ya sucka!

Artist: SoMo
Song: Kings & Queens (Throw it Up)

This is your last chance to avoid Shadowhunter/TMI spoilers.

:P

Okay that should do it.

I am unapologetically addicted to the Shadowhunters show on Freeform. Is the show amazing? No. Is the show great? Not really. Is the show...pretty good? Sure. I'll give it a pretty good.

In a nut shell? There are about a zillion things that bug me. Stuff is all out of timeline and some things are just wrong. Even when I try to separate show from books and just look at it as a show, there are still things that bug the ever loving crap out of me.

"So why do you watch it Sheri?"

I'm glad you asked person who is being completely nosy and stuff! Basically...if it's Shadowhunter related, apparently I become instantly obsessed and will watch it no matter how painful it is. If this show lasts for 20 seasons and never improved I would probably be watching all 20. It's a sickness people. And...I don't care. I've even rewatched the movie, which I hated....twice. This is what it means to have an addiction! I have no control over what my heart makes me do!

What can I say? It's starting to grow on me.

Anyway!

So, episode 12, basically I died. My heart couldn't handle the ending-ish. If you watched you know where I'm going with this.

My OTP... #Malec

It's like...

I'm sorry (not really). I just couldn't stop. I had a couple more too.

Jessica and I watched it at the same time then messaged back and forth through the episode and my first message to her after this moment was basically the audible version of this

and then internally I was like this

Have I presented you with enough GIFs yet?

Okay! I swear! I'm done.

Malec finally happened on screen!

Happiness Achievement Unlocked.

I really am (not) sorry for the GIFsplosion. I can't promise for sure that something like this will never happen again but I can give you my word that I will give it my damnedest not to. But every once in a while I need to feed the inner fangirl. She gets hungry!

What are your musts for this week? :)

Monday Musts #11 [Moses, Morocco, Classic]

The Monday Musts is a new feature created by Jessica from Lovin' los libros where we share with you each week all the musts you're missing out on. The must reads, the must listens, and the must sees (This can be ANYTHING that catches our eye. Other blogs, bookish things, pictures, etc)

Are you like me sometimes? Do you need a book occasionally that will totally wreck you? Look no further. The Law of Moses completely and utterly wrecked me. It's beautiful and tragic and so full of heart it's unreal.

So my song for this week is another one I have thanked my kiddo for introducing me to.

T: Okay so I have a new band/song for you. But..they have a weird name...

Me: Okay...

T: Just trust me okay?

Me: Don't I always?

And then this song happened...
(The video is weird I'm watching it for the first time now. Ignore it the song is SO GOOD!)

Artist: Moon Taxi
Song: Morocco

I still haven't gone further and listened to more of Moon Taxi because my obsession with this song has not yet died down. Seriously I could listen to this forever. Like I hear the opening beats and it puts me in a happy mood! Loving. It.

I have been on such a classic movie kick for the last week. I added so many classics/musicals to my Netflix DVD queue it isn't even funny. Of course my mom is loving it as well because she steals them from me haha. So this week I'll go with my favorite. I swear I was born in the wrong era most days. When I was growing up I had such a crush on Gene Kelly. So it's not surprise that one of my favorite classics is:

My favorite scene (oh to be Debbie Reynolds):

Sigh.

I need to get that DVD because it was painful sending it back to Netflix this weekend :(

On an UNhumorous note, when my brother brought this to me to switch it out for the other DVD I had for my mom he looks at the envelope and sees the date it was released (1952) and says "Hey isn't that the year you were born?" with an evil grin. Funny guy! I didn't beat him up enough when we were kids obviously.

So what musts have you got this week?

Happy Monday everyone!! :)

The Monday Musts #10 [Ugly Love, Blue, Kyle]

The Monday Musts is a new feature created by Jessica from Lovin' los libros where we share with you each week all the musts you're missing out on. The must reads, the must listens, and the must sees (This can be ANYTHING that catches our eye. Other blogs, bookish things, pictures, etc)

I have read (more like consumed) so many good books since the start of the year with only a very, very few being absolutely disappointing so I basically sat here and eenie meenie miney mo'ed it to decide what to go with this week. I love Colleen Hoover. She punches me in the feels every single time I pick up one of her books. This one was no different. Like, I thought I had it all figured out and it turns out I was wrong, as I often am, and what I thought was a worse case scenario wasn't even close to the reality. So, so good.

&

So I'm combining this section this week, though not because the music is part of the show but because the artist and the main character are married in real life so I figured they should be lumped together. So first for the music.

Artist: Blue Hamilton
Favorite Song(s):  Supermoon | Stoned in Ojai

I also like Runaway but it's not my absolute favorite. Mostly just these two. Though Supermoon is one that I end up getting into one of those obsessive listening sessions with where I have it on repeat all day for like a week. It's different, but like I've said in the past my musical tastes are pretty eclectic! :D

Back in December I was talking to someone about a bunch of old shows that we used to love and one was brought up that I realized I still hadn't seen the last half of the final season of. So I specifically added DVDs back into my Netflix account back in January so that I could rewatch the whole show and finally see how they ended the 3rd and final season. So I've become reobsessed with...

Obviously I started watching it in the first place because Matt Dallas is just delicious but then I actually fell in love with the show and it's been so much fun rewatching. Currently in the middle of Season 2 so I'm close to where I left off!

I do apologize because I know this is kind of a crappy one to put as a "must see" because it's not like it's easily accessible, but for anyone who can get it I highly recommend it if you never watched it back in 2006/09!

Plus I honestly have nothing else worth putting in this section this week because I have been on a reading binge. I wasn't joking when I said consumed up there. I read a book put it down and within an hour tops I've moved on to the next book. I rarely get like this so I'm taking advantage and ignoring anything else and just become a junkie!

So what are your musts for this week?

And now I'm off to pop in the latest DVD that came in the mail this week! *Happy Dance*

Happy Monday everyone! :)

The Monday Musts #09 [Just Listen, Dave, Those Who Can't]

The Monday Musts is a new feature created by Jessica from Lovin' los libros where we share with you each week all the musts you're missing out on. The must reads, the must listens, and the must sees (This can be ANYTHING that catches our eye. Other blogs, bookish things, pictures, etc)

Why does Monday seem to just sneak up on me every single week? I feel like maybe twice since I've started doing this I was fully prepared days in advance. Most of the time I'm scrambling at the last minute. (It's currently 3:30am and I can't sleep so...yeah)

Had to do a quick little browse through my reading journal to try and remember what I've been reading and loving lately and I just recently finished this one. It is also my first book I've read by Sarah Dessen. It wasn't anything I was expecting, which was just light and fluffy and sugary sweet romance. And it kind of was those things but it was also kinda heavy and dark and I just really, really loved it. Though if you do go to pick it up just a trigger warning for attempted rape so you might want to keep that in mind.

So if you saw my posts for the previous two weeks I gave you my first (FOB) and second (PATD) of my top 3 most favorite bands of all time and so this week I'll go with my number 3 and just complete my list. My musical tastes are heavily eclectic. So while this isn't the farthest stretch from the first 2 bands it's still quite different. Oh dear, I just realized picking songs is going to be really hard.

Artist: Dave Matthews Band
Album: Crash or also Some Devil are absolute favorites
Favorite Song(s): #41(Favorite of the favorites) | Crash into Me | Baby | Oh | So Damn Lucky | Stay or Leave | Where are You Going ... Fuck my life I could be here all day. Just anything fucking Dave Matthews yanno?

Just #41

Or you could go with the playlist I made a couple years ago (95 songs)

This section stumps me nearly every week. And normally I throw up some random YouTube video that I'm loving but I really have no idea what one I would even go for. So instead I'm going to introduce (maybe) you to a show that my son and I have recently gotten into that has us cracking up every week. Now, not gonna lie... it's very juvenile humor. And probably a bit ridiculous...but we love it. So if that's your thing and you haven't watched it yet I highly suggest Those Who Can't.

So there we go! Another Monday of musts done!

So what are your must read/listen/sees this week? :)
