Swoon Thursday #02

Swoon Thursday is a weekly meme hosted by YA Bound.
From the book we're currently reading or one we've just finished we're supposed to show you "what made me SWOON. What got my heart pounding, my skin tingling, and my stomach fluttering.

If you caught my review of Beautiful Disaster then I'm sure you probably know of my new found obsession and deep appreciation for non other than...

♥Travis Fucking Maddox♥

There really is no other way to say his name. His absolute bad boy sex appeal just screams out for you to say it that way.

From Beautiful Disaster

The first meeting of Travis and Abby:

A pair of heavy black boots stepped in front of me, diverting my attention to the floor. My eyes traveled upward; jeans spattered with blood, a set of finely chiseled abs, a bare, tattooed chest drenched in sweat, and finally a pair of warm, brown eyes. I was shoved from behind, and Travis caught me by the arm before I fell forward.

"Hey! Back up off her!" Travis frowned, shoving anyone who came near me. His stern expression melted into a smile at the sight of my shirt, and then he dabbed my face with a towel. "Sorry about that, Pigeon."

***

I swear I melted like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day when he called her Pigeon. It's crazy and such a silly thing I know but it was different and it rocked! I have such a way with words don't I? Okay yeah I know what you're thinking  how is blood spatter sexy? Just read the book. Travis makes anything sexy!

  Travis Fucking Maddox ladies... *Swooooon*

But seriously Beautiful Disaster is beyond good and I'm like only a quarter of the way through with Walking Disaster but it's all Travis all the time. Hello! A-freaking-ma-zing!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where we share our eagerly anticipated upcoming releases!

Title: Losing Hope
Series: Hopeless #2
Author: Colleen Hoover
Publisher: Atria Books
Expected publication: July 9th 2013
Genre: YA/NA, Contemporary, Romance, Realistic Fiction

In the follow-up to Colleen Hoover’s #1 New York Times bestseller Hopeless, the charming and irresistible Dean Holder tells the passionate story that has melted thousands of hearts.

In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery.

Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him…

Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.

Losing Hope is the story of Hopeless from Holder's POV. I cannot tell you how awesome it is when authors do this, for me at least. When they don't switch view points, I mean it's not bad especially when the books are as good as these, but it's nice to go back and see all over again, the same story but from a different point of view. It, though having a lot of the same elements, becomes a totally different story!

To be honest though, I'm a bit torn between excitement and  worry. This book is going to have me emotionally drained. If you've read Hopeless you'll understand why I feel this way. And if you haven't...what in the hell are you waiting for? It's Amazing. Period.

What are you counting down the days for? :)

INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE.

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Seriously, Look out book boys because Travis Maddox snuck his way to the top of the book boyfriend list. I love me a bad boy and ladies they don't get any badder than Travis. I'm not kidding! What? You need proof?

1. Gorgeous bod (Okay not proof I just want to point that out..)

2. Said body is covered in tattoos (You had me at tattoos...)

3. He's a total man-whore, no for real a girl leaving his apartment said she'd leave her number on the counter. His response was "Eh...don't worry about it." (Okay that doesn't look good but still...)

4. He rides a Harley! (I'm not big on bikes but isn't this like bad boy requirement? Yep.)

5. He's in an underground fight club type thing. And he hasn't lost yet! Come on!! You're killing me here. (Hella sexy...)

All that and yet, hell yes I still have it bad for Travis Maddox *Sigh* And seriously...who'd have thought Pigeon would be like one of the cutest nicknames ever. I swear if I had heard it anywhere else I'd have probably been thinking you're joking right? But nope it's adorable as all hell.

Oh wait there's more to the book than Travis... Sorry I got a bit distracted and obsessive. Anyway!

This freakin' book turned me into a total wreck. Honestly, I thought something might be wrong with me. If I wasn't grinning like an idiot with every page I read, then I was either down right angry or on the verge of tears/bawling like an insane woman. I had to put it down and walk away a few times because parts of it just tore me apart and I couldn't take anymore. It's just. That. Good.

It has a very well rounded out cast of characters. Besides Travis and Abby, I simply adored America and Shepley. They were a perfect addition and I grew to care for them just about as much as Travis and Abby. They had many funny, comic relief type moments as well as some drama of their own.

This book has so many ups and downs and it's worth every minute of the emotional ride that it takes you on. One I will most definitely be reading over and over through the years to come.

And now... I get to go bask in the heavenly glory that is Travis Maddox in Walking Disaster. THANK YOU Simon & Schuster and NetGalley!!! *Dances*

Geez, the last 3 have been sitting in my Nook for....months. Pathetic. Seriously I need to just take 2 months and not buy a single book and attempt to get caught up! (Trust me this will never happen. Books and temptation are to me like strippers are to a pole...errr bees are to honey...yeah that's it!) Really no excuse, stuff just keeps getting put before them. I still really want to read them all...one of these days.

What's on your list this week? :)

Meeting Jett was like lightning. Dangerous. Better left untouched. And better forgotten. But lightning always strikes twice.

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, doesn’t do relationships. When she’s sent to a remote estate to finalize a real estate deal, she discovers her new boss is no other than the guy she left naked in bed.

Sexy, dangerously handsome, and arrogant Jett Mayfield attracts trouble, and women, like a lightning rod. But the night he meets Brooke he gets more than he bargained for. The green-eyed millionaire playboy isn’t used to taking no for an answer, and he isn’t about to start now.

When he proposes two months of no strings sex, Brooke is intrigued and accepts his proposal. Little does she know Jett’s determined to claim the one woman he can’t have, pulling her deeper into his dangerous world.

A man who doesn't take 'no' for an answer.
A woman afraid to surrender to love.
Two lives that are about to cross...and secrets laid bare.

First of all, let me just get this out there....Way to leave a girl freaking hanging!! I mean talk about cliffhangers...ugh. *Sigh* Okay moving on...

I will be honest and say I wasn't sure I was going to like this book once I started. Which really bothered me because one, it sounded really good and I was really wanting to like it. And two umm have you seen that cover??  Three everyone around me has just loved it, I figured something was wrong with me.

I think I wasn't connecting with Brooke very well, she seemed to contradict herself in the beginning about her ex Sean. At first it was all "we have an open relationship and there's no future" to then after an oops type drunken "hook-up" it turns to "oh no I'm a cheat and I really wanted to see what kind of a future Sean and I have". The other thing was later when she starts this thing with Jett he was so bi-polar with her. Literally like hot one minute, (and I do mean hot...holy hell I think I'm still a bit flushed!), then he just like shuts off and for no visible reason he acts like he's mad at her and pushes her away. I mean I just couldn't identify with that. Why would a girl want to stick around and be with a guy like that? Just because he's gorgeous? It just felt wrong.

I mean now I think I understand. I stuck through to the end and I'm glad I did because when it comes down to it I finally ended up really liking this book and I want book two so bad!! I'm dying to find out if my assumptions about Jett are true or not. Even how things were left I'm still on board and Team Jett and I'm hoping that he won't let me down!
