To want what you’re not supposed to have…
She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.
But
for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has
ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s
desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has
never been told no.
Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in
Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and
his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf
coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll
never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her
father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with
his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under
her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll
never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows
she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far.
Oh this book. Oh Abbi Glines. I swear we, bookish people, were blessed the day that woman decided to put words to paper and release them into the world. She's one of the very few people out there who can crush me into little tiny pieces and have me saying "Thank you. More please?" Because that's what this book did. That's what Rush and Blaire did.
I didn't like Rush at first. He was just kind of a jerkface. And these are the books that you will find me fangirling over the most. If you can take me from "Wow, he is such a jerk!" to "Holy crap what just happened? Call me?" then I'm over the moon. By the end of this book I was in tears. Like "ugly cry" tears, and I went from thinking Blaire was awesome and adorable in the beginning to wanting to punch her in the face by the end. On the other side I wanted to kick Rush in the junk at the start and by the end all those tears I mentioned a second ago, were over him.
And the hot and steamy? Good lord can this woman write the most breathtakingly hot scenes. I've said this before but she has honestly ruined all men for me. Unless I find myself a Rush Finlay or Beau Vincent out there somewhere, and I'm not holding my breath, *Sigh*....Okay, okay. I'm snapping out of it.
I'm dying to move on to Never Too Far but....
Hmmm I've wanted to read this but had seen some mixed reviews. I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie it's no a happy book. It broke my heart at times. But I'm okay with books like that. I'm weird I loved every minute of it. Thanks for stopping by Wendy :)
ReplyDeleteSigh...alright you've convinced me to go back and read the bits in between the dirty bits ;)
